Our nonprofit is seeking a grant researcher and/or talented copywriter to assist our team in identifying grants, and/or reviewing our general operating funds grant proposal, and making updates to specific grant applications (no more than 5).

To implement this grant writing project, we'll need two initial meetings with a volunteer. In our first meeting, we will provide you with our grants research done years ago and a copy and review the application draft already written. If you prefer to do grant research, we will provide you with access to GrantStation Foundation database and our lists of foundation research we did years ago for your review and evaluation. We'll align on expectations and agree on the project timeline. Next, you'll research grant opportunities and/or review our grant application document using the track changes function checking for inconsistencies and continuity errors, and create a list of recommended changes to share with us as they relate to the grant applications we are applying for. The project will conclude after up to two rounds of edits on each of five grant applications, which the volunteer will make the agreed-upon changes to the document. If you are doing grant research, we will review and prioritize grant opportunities focusing on family foundations and corporate foundations.
Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will help us raise much-needed funds to advance our mission, which is to provide support to families with children battling cancer in the home, where more than 60% of the cancer journey happens without coordinated support. We are seeking to grow our organization by adding a development director and a program director. These grants will help us do that.
Our founder and CEO will provide you with documents that needs to be reviewed in an easily shareable format (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.). We'll also send you a list of grants we identified years ago for your review and prioritization and/or the grant proposal and application guidelines.

Organization Mission

We believe a child or young parent’s cancer diagnosis is a life-altering journey. For that reason, the care and support of the family are required to avoid parent(s) from losing their physical and mental health, home, job, and/or entering into bankruptcy. Therefore, we provide wraparound services to meet the daily living needs of young families navigating cancer.
