Google Ads Optimization For LGBTQ+ Nonprofit

Badge Of Pride is seeking a skilled volunteer to help us optimize and fully leverage our Google Ad Grant in support of our mission to activate LGBTQ+ history as a force for visibility, education, and community power.

This project will focus on strengthening our Google Ads strategy so we can expand awareness of our exhibitions, public programs, oral history initiatives, and advocacy-focused storytelling—particularly in Texas, where LGBTQ+ history and visibility remain contested.

This project will play a key role in our organization's ability to grow brand awareness and impact community members. This project may include the following activities:
-Development of or updates to our nonprofit's Google Ads strategy
-Training one or two staff members on how to update Google Ads and monitor their performance
-Setting up integration between Google Ads and Google Analytics
-Making recommendations for future search engine optimization or content management projects that will improve our Google Ads health

Our ideal volunteer has experience with Google Ads and search engine marketing, strong copywriting skills, and is enthusiastic about supporting an LGBTQ+ organization doing public-facing cultural and educational work.

Badge Of Pride is a Queer-led nonprofit activating a nationally significant collection of LGBTQ+ historical artifacts through exhibitions, performances, oral histories, and public programs. Our work brings LGBTQ+ stories into classrooms, museums, civic spaces, and community conversations—often in places where those stories have been excluded or erased.

By helping us optimize our Google Ad Grant, a volunteer will directly support:
- Increased visibility for LGBTQ+ history and culture in Texas and beyond
- Greater attendance at free, accessible public programs and exhibitions
- Stronger connections with educators, students, donors, volunteers, and community members
- The long-term sustainability of a small but growing LGBTQ+ organization with outsized impact

This is an opportunity to apply technical marketing skills to a mission-driven project where visibility is meaningful, access is political, and history has real-world consequences. A volunteer’s work will help ensure that LGBTQ+ stories are easier to find, harder to ignore, and firmly placed in the public eye.

To prepare, we have activated Google Ads for our website and secured a Google Ad Grant award. We are prepared to share the login credentials to our Google Workspace. In our first session together, we'll brief you on our marketing goals, as well as our mission, vision, and purpose. Your training of our team members on Google Ads best practices will help ensure the long-term successful implementation of the great work you share with us.
