Why This Project Matters: User Trust & Adoption: A polished, consistent interface signals professionalism and reliability. Small business owners are entrusting their livelihoods to our platform—they need to feel confident in the tool they're using. Inconsistent design erodes that trust.
Accessibility & Usability: Our standardized typography hierarchy and proper color contrast ratios ensure the platform is accessible to users of all abilities. The 4px spacing grid and consistent component patterns reduce cognitive load, making it easier for busy business owners to quickly find matches and complete exchanges.
Mobile-First Communities: Many of our target users—particularly in food and agricultural businesses—primarily access technology via mobile devices. Aligning with our mobile-first design system ensures they can participate fully in the local economy we're building.
Impact Numbers: Currently serving small businesses in local food and agricultural networks
Each successful exchange keeps money circulating locally rather than leaving the community
The platform enables cash-free transactions, reducing barriers for businesses with tight cash flow
Our credit system has facilitated thousands of dollars in equivalent service exchanges
Your Contribution: By helping us implement these design updates, you'll be directly enabling small businesses to connect, trade, and thrive together. Every improvement to our interface removes friction from the exchange process—meaning more local businesses discovering each other, more services traded, and stronger community economic resilience.
Your frontend expertise will literally help build the infrastructure for a more equitable local economy.
