Draft a revised paid leave section for our employee handbook that establishes a required minimum of two weeks off per year for full-time staff within an unlimited-leave framework. The policy should include controls such as blackout dates and expectations for meeting job duties. Specific details will be provided during volunteer interviews.

A clear, balanced paid leave policy will improve staff wellbeing and retention, enabling our team to better cultivate leadership and sustain livelihoods among people we serve. This policy supports our mission by strengthening organizational capacity to pursue structural change for individuals impacted by the criminal legal system in North Carolina.

We will provide the existing handbook section and any known scheduling constraints. Volunteers can interview staff to confirm specifics. Our team will review drafts, give timely feedback, and work with volunteers to finalize language for adoption; implementation responsibilities will be discussed with volunteers.
