Sound Editing to Help Refine Refugee Stories

We’re seeking a sound editor who works in Adobe Audition to support our visual storytelling process — a creative project capturing refugee and migrant stories across borders.

You’ll help clean and polish 7-10 short-form audio clips to prepare them for integration with animated and video content. These clips are emotionally powerful, sometimes raw, and require a sensitive and respectful approach.

You’d help us:
• Edit and clean voice recordings in Adobe Audition
• Ensure emotional tone and pacing are preserved
• Mentor a team member in basic sound workflows and best practices
• Collaborate with our team to align final clips with project style and structure

Bonus: In addition to editing, we’d love for your time with us to mentor a visual storyteller on our team who has video editing skills and is now learning more about audio. They’re eager to improve and would benefit from your guidance.

Creshendo’s storytelling project was created in direct response to refugee communities who asked for one thing: to be heard. We use visual and audio storytelling to shift public narratives about migration — and to center voices too often ignored or flattened.

Your role in this project will ensure that these voices are shared with care, emotional clarity, and professional quality. You’ll also be helping to build capacity within our team by mentoring someone who’s ready to grow.

Your work will live inside a larger digital anthology of refugee and migrant stories — shared across platforms, classrooms, and communities worldwide.

You’ll be matched with one primary collaborator — our visual storyteller — and supported by our Executive Producer and Storytelling Team Lead. We’ll provide context, story outlines, and access to raw audio files via Google Drive.
