We'd like to connect with a skilled volunteer, ideally with specific experience in nonprofit accounting, who can help us with our 2026 operations budget based on our past budgets. Volunteer will review provided historical budget materials, create a line-item operating budget with clear assumptions, deliver an editable spreadsheet model, and provide brief explanatory notes. Specific data and scope will be discussed during onboarding.
A clear 2026 operations budget will help Give a Beat allocate resources across its music programs, track critical government and foundation grants, support program sustainability and growth, and strengthen the organization's resilience in planning for major organizational and transformational change.
Details will be provided about historical budgets and document access. We will be available for regular check-ins, clarify organizational priorities and assumptions, and work with the volunteer to finalize a budget our team can use in 2026 planning.

Organization Mission

Give a Beat’s mission is to use the power of music as a pathway to healing and creating opportunities for those impacted by the criminal justice system. Give a Beat addresses the continuum of incarceration by using music as a catalyst for change. Through our established programs—Youth Music Production and DJ Program, Prison Electronic Music Program, and On a New Track Reentry Mentoring Program, we engage the music industry to help widen pathways for people to thrive, reduce recidivism, encourage empathy, and unite to contribute to the larger transformation of the criminal justice system.
