We want to collaborate with a deeply knowledgeable finance professional to build a stronger, more sustainable financial infrastructure for the Coalition. With this volunteer’s leadership, we aim to create:

- A robust budgeting and forecasting framework aligned with mission priorities
- Board-ready financial reporting that increases clarity and accountability
- Stronger fiscal controls, policies, and compliance processes
- A long-term sustainability plan to support program growth and donor confidence
- Tools and systems that help us make informed, strategic financial decisions

This Volunteer role will help us build the financial strength required to expand services, support more families, and amplify our regional impact.
This project directly strengthens our mission to help working families secure stable housing and prevent homelessness. By elevating our financial management and long-term planning, this board role will enable the Coalition to:

• Expand financial capacity to serve more families with first, last, and security deposits
• Strengthen follow-up support that keeps families housed long-term
• Maintain the transparency, accuracy, and accountability expected by donors and partners
• Build financial resilience needed for program expansion across Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade
• Improve compliance and governance, reinforcing our credibility and community trust
• Ensure resources are allocated strategically to maximize impact

A strong Financial Advisor helps create the financial stability necessary for us to change lives, restore dignity, and advance our mission to end homelessness for working families in South Florida.
We will ensure this project is positioned for success by providing strong alignment, clear access, and the organizational support needed for effective financial leadership. To enable the Volunteer Financial Advisor to be successful, we will:

• Provide a comprehensive onboarding covering our mission, programs, current financials, and strategic priorities
• Share all relevant financial documents, historical reports, policies, and data needed for oversight
• Offer direct access to the CEO, board leadership, and our external accounting partners for collaboration
• Establish clear goals, expectations, timelines, and responsibilities for financial reporting and strategy
• Maintain open communication with scheduled check-ins and timely feedback on recommendations
• Provide organizational support to implement improved processes, systems, and financial controls

These structures ensure the Volunteer Financial Advisor has the information, access, and partnership needed to strengthen financial stewardship, improve transparency, and guide the organization toward long-term sustainability.
