Our goal for this Taproot Project is to create a comprehensive, well-organized, and effective grant development pipeline that strengthens our ability to secure funding for Bright Mind Enrichment’s expanding programs. As our organization continues to grow—reaching millions through initiatives such as Street Care and Wellness Week—we require a Writing Specialist who can support our efforts to identify high-value funding opportunities and craft compelling, mission-aligned grant proposals.

We are seeking a skilled volunteer to assist with:

Conducting research to identify relevant federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities

Drafting, editing, and preparing persuasive grant proposals

Collaborating with program directors and finance staff to gather accurate information and develop realistic budgets

Maintaining an organized database of grant deadlines, submissions, and funding statuses

Ensuring proposals adhere to funder guidelines and compliance requirements

Preparing interim and final grant reports as needed

The final outcome will be a well-structured set of proposals and processes that enhance our financial sustainability and long-term organizational capacity.
This project is vital to advancing Bright Mind Enrichment’s mission of uplifting individuals and communities through innovative, accessible programs. Securing additional funding directly strengthens our capacity to scale initiatives such as Street Care, Wellness Week, and our emerging educational programs.

Enhanced grant-writing efforts will:

Increase the financial resources available to support underserved and vulnerable populations

Expand our ability to launch new programs and strengthen existing ones

Improve long-term sustainability through diversified funding streams

Support operational growth by enabling us to hire, train, and mobilize more volunteers

Allow us to broaden our national reach through technology, outreach, and direct-service initiatives

By contributing their skills, the volunteer will play a crucial role in ensuring that Bright Mind Enrichment can continue delivering high-impact services to the communities that rely on us. Their work will directly support organizational growth, stability, and mission-driven outcomes.
Our team has prepared for this project by establishing a clear, organized foundation to ensure a productive and well-supported partnership with our volunteer. Specifically, we have:

Secured full buy-in from leadership and program teams

Collected existing proposal materials, organizational documents, program descriptions, and financial data

Identified priority funding areas and upcoming grant cycles

Prepared internal workflows for information gathering and proposal review

Developed a central database structure to track grant submissions and deadlines

Designated a primary point of contact to ensure consistent communication and timely feedback

We have also outlined how completed proposals and research findings will be integrated into our ongoing fundraising strategy. Our team is committed to providing clear guidance, prompt responses, and strong collaboration to ensure the success of the project.

Organization Mission

Bright Mind is a community wellness education organization. BME was just featured on ABC, CBS, Politico, Newsweek, and many more outlets for our vaccination project and we need more people to join us as we continue to solve urgent social issues! CBS News said of our newest app: "Health experts have said friends and family are key to getting those who aren't vaccinated and experts say this (Vaccination Rewards) app will start those conversations. "Bright Mind recently launched Street Care, a massive initiative built by our homelessness and wellness experts, 'your toolkit to help homeless people.' We have an app, an expanding series of informational materials and instructional videos (25+ already), and more (at streetcare.us). We are pioneering an online and on-the-streets outreach approach, accessible to everyone. We are passionate about building community. This is a crucial time to create positive change, and we look forward to working together as we accomplish great things together!
