We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help Ineffable Films strengthen our accounting and financial reporting systems. This project includes:
• Reviewing our current banking (Mercury), financial tracking (Kick.co), and past use of QuickBooks
• Recommending whether to continue with our current tools or transition to a nonprofit-friendly accounting platform
• Setting up clear chart of accounts, categories, and reporting templates tailored for nonprofit operations
• Creating simple monthly/quarterly reporting processes for leadership and board use
• Providing guidance on best practices for nonprofit financial compliance and grant reporting
Ineffable Films empowers young filmmakers from diverse cultural backgrounds to share their voices with the world. Strengthening our accounting and reporting systems will provide transparency, improve board oversight, and increase funder confidence — all of which will allow us to grow programs and support more youth filmmakers. A reliable financial infrastructure is critical for sustainability and impact.
We currently manage finances through Mercury Bank and Kick.co, with prior experience using QuickBooks. Our team will provide access to financial records, bank data, and our reporting needs for grants and board meetings. We will dedicate time to regular check-ins, provide feedback quickly, and ensure the volunteer has the context and documents needed to set up systems effectively.

Organization Mission

Ineffable Films is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young filmmakers from international lineages to tell the human journey of awakening in a world different from them, yet one they cannot abandon. We explore narratives that expose and celebrate the cultures, ethnicities, and communities of worlds both real and imagined. Our mission is to support these teenagers, especially those from BIPOC backgrounds, in telling their unique human journeys through the powerful medium of film. We operate primarily in the Greater Boston area, including Somerville, Cambridge, and Brookline, with aspirations to expand our reach and impact.
