We’re seeking a developer to help automate and deploy our data platform that tracks the social and environmental impact of climate and equity funding. Currently, SEED must be run locally. We’d like help creating API endpoints, automating basic processes (such as data updates and model runs), and enabling secure cloud-based access. This will make SEED usable by more partners, without requiring downloads or coding knowledge.
SEED is a cornerstone of our work to improve equity in climate and tech funding. By building automation and remote access into SEED, you’ll help us scale a tool used by grassroots leaders, public agencies, and researchers working on climate justice. Your work will help ensure that community partners - many of whom lack high-end tech infrastructure - can access, use, and benefit from this tool seamlessly.
We already have internal buy-in and a dedicated team in place, including a technical fellow and a developer. We’ve mapped out SEED’s workflows and data pipelines and will provide clear documentation, regular check-ins, and access to our sandboxed environment. You’ll be supported and empowered to make a big impact in a short timeframe.

Organization Mission

The Undivide Project is the start of a body of work focused on undoing the so-called “Digital Divide” by working directly with communities. The first phase of our work will be directed towards understanding the impacts of digital divestment. We will offer bespoke solutions and implementation support reflective of community conditions. The next phase of the Undivide Project will focus on building community resilience using Internet tools. After that… we will let our community partners lead the way. Our vision is that the Internet and the benefits it can create should be accessible, equitable, green, and available to all.
