We need a volunteer who can virtually conduct a comprehensive HR assessment and deliver concrete recommendations on necessary improvements.

Our nonprofit needs your help to build organizational resiliency by investing in our people. During this project, a volunteer will assess where our organization stands internally, brainstorm how to improve upon weaknesses, and how we can further lean into organizational strengths. Investigating which HR policies should be implemented, researching new remote work standards, or conducting an internal engagement survey may all be elements of this work.

All of the above is relevant for our needs. Our nonprofit has grown significantly in 2023 and 2024, and now we have 13 employees (2 managers) across 3 worksites. We need to upgrade our HR and payroll systems and we also are starting to have issues with employees clearly understanding some HR benefits, like PTO. In this case, some have wanted to "cash out" their PTO allotment at the end of the year. It's not something that they have been offered before. That and other policies need explanation for our hourly and (young) management team.
We have done quite a bit of work attempting to standardize our policies across the nonprofit and 2 social enterprises. We're having some HR growing pains as we implement policies for our hourly staff. A lot of work is done and I've tried to take what I remember from my corporate experience and apply it to my little nonprofit and our small businesses. We need your professional help to apply what could be basic HR principles to a nonprofit.
This project will involve the exchange of sensitive internal information. With that in mind, we've done the pre-work internally to ensure leadership and staff buy-in to this work and gather the information that will be handed off to the volunteer. The recommendations shared by our volunteer partner will be incorporated into our operations and people strategy in the coming months.

We are able to share our current materials, including some operating policies regarding workplace behavior, vehicle logs, etc.
