Event Planning for Senior Engagement Program

We are seeking an Event Planning volunteer to help us create a structured and replicable event planning framework for our organization. Specifically, we would like the volunteer to develop:

-A written event plan and planning timeline for our upcoming Aging with Dignity: Senior Advocacy Info Session.

-A replicable event-planning checklist and framework that our team can use to organize future events.

The volunteer’s support will be primarily advisory and strategic, providing expertise, guidance, and tools. Our internal staff and advocates will handle execution of logistics, while the volunteer ensures we have a clear plan and sustainable structure.

This project will require 2–4 hours per week over the course of several weeks.

At Seniors in Distress, our mission is to create a safe space to care for and protect seniors from neglect, abuse, and fraud. Events like the Aging with Dignity: Senior Advocacy Info Session are central to that mission because they bring seniors, advocates, and community members together to learn, share resources, and build stronger networks of protection and care.

By developing a clear event plan and a replicable framework, the volunteer will empower us to run impactful, well-organized events consistently. This means more seniors will have access to vital information, more advocates will be equipped to respond to abuse and neglect, and more families will feel supported.

The volunteer’s contribution will directly strengthen our capacity to reach seniors, build trust in the community, and sustain our advocacy work well beyond this one event.

We are well-prepared to make this a successful collaboration. Our team has already defined the purpose and goals of the Aging with Dignity: Senior Advocacy Info Session, secured initial buy-in from our leadership, and identified key themes and outcomes for the event.

We will provide the volunteer with background information on Seniors in Distress, our mission, past event experiences, and the specific needs of our audience. Our staff will serve as the point of contact for the volunteer, ensuring smooth communication and quick turnaround on any information needed.

Most importantly, we are committed to using the tools created during this project not only for the upcoming session but also to establish a standardized process for planning all future events. This ensures the volunteer’s work has a lasting, organization-wide impact.
