Social Media Content Calendar & Copywriting
Are you passionate about social media and eager to create meaningful change?
World Neighbors is seeking dedicated volunteers to help develop a dynamic social media strategy for our 75th anniversary, which we will celebrate from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
We're looking for a volunteer to help us save time and be more strategic with our social media presence. Specifically, you'll create a template for a one-month social posting calendar that we can leverage to make managing our multiple social media channels easy. You'll draft copy for fifteen to twenty posts and make recommendations to customize our content to optimize it for different platforms. We will seek your input on using tools to automate our social media postings. The final deliverable will be the calendar template you create filled with fifteen to twenty different posts.
You're a great fit for us if you're passionate about our mission of helping marginalized communities in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, you have a background in managing professional social media accounts, and you can spend ten hours over one to three weeks on this project.
Why Volunteer with Us?
As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in elevating World Neighbors’ mission and engaging a new generation of supporters. Your expertise will help us craft innovative, compelling messages that resonate with younger audiences and drive awareness around our 75 years of empowering communities worldwide.
What You’ll Do
• Develop a Platform-Specific Social Media Plan: Create strategies for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube that attract and engage younger audiences.
• Innovate with Content: Brainstorm fresh, trend-forward ideas—like short-form videos, interactive challenges, and influencer partnerships—to make our anniversary stand out.
• Build Compelling Messaging: Help shape the voice and tone of our 75th anniversary campaign, ensuring our messages are authentic, relatable, and impactful.
• Collaborate with a Team: Work alongside members of our international team, board members, and other volunteers to integrate social media tactics with our broader anniversary campaign.
• Track and Optimize: Use analytics and feedback to refine our approach and maximize engagement.
Who We’re Looking For
• Experience Matters: We value volunteers who have successfully developed social media strategies for nonprofits, campaigns, or initiatives targeting younger audiences.
• Creative Thinkers: If you have a knack for storytelling and a pulse on the latest social media trends, we want you!
• Team Players: Collaboration and communication are key as we work together to amplify World Neighbors’ impact
How This Fits Into Our Larger Strategy
This volunteer opportunity is a core part of our FY 2026 Marketing & Communications Plan. Your work will help us celebrate our legacy while building momentum for the next 75 years, with a special focus on converting new and younger social followers into annual fund donors and amplifying our thought leadership.
Ready to Make a Difference?
If you’re excited to help World Neighbors reach new heights and connect with a younger generation through innovative social media, we’d love to hear from you!
