Brand Style Guide Development
We’re relaunching our organization under a new name—Fair Chance Futures—and are seeking a talented volunteer to help us build a brand style guide that reflects the bold, professional, and future-focused identity of our expanded mission.
This guide will serve as the foundation for all internal and external communications as we grow nationally. We’ve evolved from Justice Through Code into a platform offering two AI-first career tracks:
• A Technical Track, where learners build AI systems
• A Professional Track, where learners master AI tools in non-coding roles
We’d like the volunteer to help us create a practical, polished style guide (~10–15 pages) that includes:
• Brand color palette and guidance on color usage
• Typography recommendations
• Logo recommendations
You’ll be working directly with our Executive Director who will ensure decisions are made quickly and collaboratively.
Fair Chance Futures builds equitable pathways into the AI economy for justice-impacted talent—people who are often locked out of opportunity despite their skills and drive. With over 80 million Americans carrying conviction records, our work provides a real shot at economic mobility to a population that desperately needs it.
We’re launching nationally with two new tracks and a bold vision—but we need a brand identity that reflects the professionalism, innovation, and urgency of our mission. A brand style guide will help us show up consistently to employers, funders, partners, and and allow our learners/Fellows to feel proud of the movement they’re a part of.
By contributing to this project, you’ll be shaping the visual identity of a national initiative that opens doors for overlooked talent and redefines who gets to thrive in the future of work.
We’ve done the foundational work and are ready for a designer to help us bring it to life.
We’ve already:
• Finalized our new name and updated mission
• Completed early-stage typography selection
• Gained full buy-in from our leadership team
• Assembled a small internal team to support this project
• Identified specific assets and use cases where the guide will be immediately implemented (e.g., social campaigns, website, recruitment flyers)
We’re organized, responsive, and committed to making this a smooth and energizing collaboration. You’ll have the support you need and clear direction to make your work shine—and be used daily by a mission-driven team.
