We are looking to bring to life an updated, responsive, and easy-to-manage WordPress website for Share My Meals, built with Elementor. This project will be based on newly approved wireframes and mockups developed by our graphic designer and website consultant.

The volunteer will help us:
- Implement the full site structure and design in WordPress using Elementor
- Build and customize pages that reflect our mission, programs, and partnerships
- Integrate third-party tools such as our newsletter sign-up, donation platform, and contact forms
- Optimize the site for mobile responsiveness, accessibility (WCAG), page load speed, and SEO
- Provide documentation or a brief training so our internal team can confidently maintain the site post-launch
- Conduct quality assurance (QA) and troubleshoot any bugs before the go-live date

We expect the volunteer to collaborate with our small team for about 2 months, starting July 1, 2025. Their support will be instrumental in completing the technical side of our web redesign.

At Share My Meals, we fight both food insecurity and the environmental impact of food waste by recovering surplus meals and delivering them to communities across New Jersey.

This website project is crucial to expanding our reach, building partnerships, and increasing donations—all of which directly support our ability to deliver more meals to people in need. By helping us implement a modern and accessible website, you will:
- Increase visibility of our mission, programs, and impact
- Streamline how supporters donate, volunteer, and engage with us
- Enable our small team to manage updates efficiently—saving time and resources
- Showcase our growing list of partners and achievements, strengthening our credibility with funders and community stakeholders

Your work will directly support our growth, helping us serve more families and reduce more food waste—amplifying your impact across every community we touch. This is your opportunity to use your WordPress skills to power real-world change.

We have laid a strong foundation to ensure this project runs smoothly and makes the best use of a skilled volunteer’s time and talent. Here’s how we’ve prepared:
- Clear internal alignment: Our leadership and communications teams are fully aligned on the website goals, structure, and timeline. Everyone is committed and available to support the project.
- Design and content ready: We’ve worked with a graphic designer and web consultant to develop approved wireframes, page layouts, and updated copy. The visual direction is locked in.
- Tools and access prepared: Our WordPress and Elementor environments are fully set up. We’re ready to give the volunteer access and support from day one.
- Sustainability plan: After launch, our team will maintain and update the site. To that end, we’re requesting brief training or documentation to ensure a smooth handoff and long-term usability.
