Strategic Fundraising & Donor Growth Plan
We’re looking for a marketing strategist to help us refine and deliver the why behind giving to Heidi’s Village. We need expert support in developing messaging and tactics that will (1) re-engage our lapsed donors, (2) clearly communicate our unique funding model, and (3) inspire new and existing supporters to become long-term, loyal donors.
Our primary goals for this project:
Create messaging that explains why our 50/50 partner subsidy model matters and how it directly saves more animals.
Develop a re-engagement strategy to bring lapsed donors back into the fold—some of whom haven’t heard from us in years.
Identify compelling ways to tell our story to new supporters across email, social media, and direct mail.
This work will directly support our 2025–2026 Strategic Fundraising & Donor Growth Plan, helping us build sustainable donor relationships and grow our base of recurring, mid-level, and major givers.
Heidi’s Village exists to fill the gap in animal welfare by supporting partner rescues with discounted boarding and full-service veterinary care. We cover 50% of the cost for our rescue partners—something that’s nearly unheard of. We also operate a fully-funded Smitten Kitten Nursery for neonates who would otherwise be euthanized or not survive due to the level of care required.
We need donors to understand this model and why their gifts are so powerful in multiplying impact. Your work will help us:
Bring back donors who once supported us but have gone quiet.
Acquire new donors who deeply align with our mission.
Sustain a funding model that helps save thousands of animals annually.
By lending your time and talent, you’ll help us ensure that no animal slips through the cracks simply because their rescue partner couldn’t afford the care. You'll directly support a more compassionate, collaborative future for animal welfare in Arizona—and beyond.
We're ready to hit the ground running! We’ve Secured full internal buy-in, including leadership and board support.
We are working on strategy document that includes donor personas, segmentation plans, data analysis goals, and fundraising frameworks.
Organizing and prepping our donor database through our CRM (Virtuous) for targeting and automation.
Defined core programs like our $24-a-night recurring giving concept and “Behind the Village” immersive donor experiences.
You won’t be starting from scratch—we just need your marketing magic to help turn our strategy into action! Your ideas will go directly into donor journeys, fundraising campaigns, and re-engagement messaging executed by our internal team.
