Squarespace Website Redesign
At the International Girls Academy, we are seeking a passionate and experienced UX designer to partner with us on a vital website redesign project. This is an exciting opportunity to help elevate our digital presence and better serve the young women, mentors, donors, and community leaders who engage with our work.
We are looking for a web designer to help us create a refreshed structure and design for our nonprofit website, which is currently hosted on Squarespace. The ideal volunteer will assess our goals and audiences—ranging from potential donors to global program participants—and translate them into a clean, engaging, and user-friendly online experience.
The primary goal is to update and enhance several key areas of our website, including:
Donation Page – Optimized for ease of giving and compelling impact storytelling.
Events Page – To showcase upcoming events, workshops, and campaigns.
Resource Page – A hub for downloadable materials, guides, and learning tools.
Blog – To highlight success stories, updates, and thought leadership.
Program Pages – Clearly outlining our initiatives, locations, and outcomes.
Board of Directors Page – Featuring our leadership team and their bios.
Home Page – Including a dynamic video feature similar to what’s seen on wearebgc.org.
In our initial meeting, we’ll discuss our website goals, target users, and technical capacity. From there, we’d love for the volunteer to synthesize our needs into a requirements briefing. Over the next 6–9 weeks, we’ll collaborate in several check-ins as the volunteer conducts a full audit of our current site and proposes updated architecture and visual design elements, including wireframes and layout suggestions.
Your creative insight and UX expertise will help ensure that our website reflects the strength and potential of the girls we serve—and inspires action from those who want to support them. Together, we can build a platform that empowers our mission and deepens our impact worldwide.
At the International Girls Academy, our mission is to empower underserved and underrepresented girls worldwide through education, mentorship, and leadership development. This project is at the heart of that mission.
By volunteering with us, you’ll play a direct role in helping girls build the confidence, skills, and mindset they need to become change-makers in their communities and beyond. Whether you’re mentoring, facilitating workshops, helping with curriculum development, or supporting outreach efforts, your contribution will create real opportunities for young women to break cycles of poverty, discrimination, and limited access.
This project will allow us to expand our reach, improve the quality of our programs, and create a stronger, more connected network of empowered young women. You won’t just be giving your time—you’ll be giving girls the tools to thrive, lead, and inspire future generations. Imagine a girl who once lacked access to education now mentoring others and launching a community initiative of her own—that’s the impact you’ll help us create.
Join us, and be part of something transformative.
At the International Girls Academy, we are deeply committed to setting this project—and our volunteers—up for success from day one. We've taken thoughtful steps to ensure that your time, talent, and energy will be used effectively and meaningfully.
Internally, we've secured full buy-in from our leadership and program teams. Everyone understands the importance of this project and is aligned around its goals and timeline. We've designated a dedicated point of contact to support communication and keep the project on track, and we’ve already gathered the necessary background materials, data, and insights to help you get started quickly and confidently.
We’ve also built on the success of past Taproot Plus projects, using those experiences to streamline our onboarding process, clarify our needs, and identify how your work will integrate directly into our strategic goals. The outcomes of this project won’t sit on a shelf—they’ll be implemented by our team and used to expand our programs, increase our impact, and reach even more girls around the world.
We’re excited to collaborate, learn from your expertise, and make this a mutually rewarding experience. You’ll be joining a team that values your contribution and is fully prepared to act on the powerful work you help us create.
