Financial Audit - 2024
The Veteran Project Mentoring Alliance (VPMMA) is preparing for a re-launch and is committed to transparency and sound financial practices. To ensure accountability and confidence to our members and stakeholders, we require a pro bono accountant or bookkeeper to conduct a financial audit of our records for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024.
Our organization has less than $20,000 in our bank account, making a paid audit financially prohibitive. Securing a pro bono audit through Taproot will provide invaluable insight into our financial health, identify any areas for improvement, and strengthen our credibility as we embark on this new phase.
Project Description:
We seek a skilled and experienced volunteer accountant or bookkeeper to perform a basic financial audit of our 2024 financial records. This would ideally include:
Reviewing our income and expense records.
Examining bank statements and reconciliations.
Assessing the accuracy and completeness of our financial documentation.
Provide a summary report of findings, including recommendations for improving our financial processes and controls.
The scope of this audit can be tailored based on the volunteer's expertise and available time. Our priority is a clear and actionable overview of our financial standing.
By lending your accounting or bookkeeping expertise to this pro bono project, you will be directly contributing to:
Enhanced Professional Development: Your audit will help ensure our resources are used effectively to create workshops, webinars, and resources that equip professionals with the skills they need to succeed in their careers.
Stronger Community Connections: A financially stable VPMMA can invest in platforms and initiatives that foster networking, mentorship, and collaboration among professionals, reducing isolation and fostering a supportive ecosystem.
Increased Accessibility to Resources: By optimizing our financial management, we can potentially lower membership barriers or offer more free resources, making our support accessible to a broader range of professionals.
A More Sustainable and Impactful Organization: Your contribution will help build a strong foundation, ensuring the VPMMA can continue to serve and empower virtual project management and marketing professionals for years.
Centralized Material Gathering: We are already organizing our key financial documents for the 2024 fiscal year, including income and expense records, bank statements, and existing financial reports. We will have these materials readily available and organized for the volunteer to access efficiently, minimizing the time spent on administrative tasks.
I will be this project's primary point of contact, making sure that we communicate quickly. I am committed to responding to the volunteer's questions, quickly providing necessary information, and facilitating a smooth workflow.
