Recruitment Planning For Human Resource Council

Help us recruit mission-driven Human Resources Council members (Executive level 6-8 members and Emerging Leaders level 10-15 members) to our nonprofit! We are seeking a volunteer to help us craft a comprehensive recruitment plan. Project tasks will include:
-Meeting with our organization's project managers to identify target companies and HR leaders
-Identify gaps in draft of the recruitment structure
-Development of the first draft of an inclusive recruitment strategy that includes clear tactics for reaching candidates representative of the community that we're serving and who meet our current needs
-Finalizing the recruitment strategy by incorporating feedback from relevant team members

New Haven Promise faces the challenge of aligning the career aspirations and skills of Promise Scholars and alumni with the hiring needs of the local business community. Currently, there is a disconnect between employer demands and the skill sets of Scholars, which limits job placement opportunities. Additionally, there is no formal process for identifying in-demand skills or for engaging younger HR professionals who are Promise alumni to support Scholars in navigating the job market. The current mission of the Council is to bridge the gap between local talent and business needs by empowering Promise Scholars and alumni through mentorship, skill development, and direct industry connections. By fostering collaboration between emerging and executive Human Resources leaders within the HR Council, New Haven Promise and the Council will create an inclusive, sustainable workforce that strengthens the Greater New Haven community, advocates for equitable hiring practices, and ensures local talent thrives in the evolving job market.

We will designate a team member to lead the project and work with the volunteer. We'll provide you with relevant information about our stakeholders and a background briefing on our programs, mission, vision, and purpose. You will have access to relevant materials and our current recruitment pipelines.
