Equity on Fire’s mission is to enhance the work environment for firefighters. We believe that no one should endure harassment or discrimination, and we strive to provide the necessary tools and support to combat these issues effectively. Our organization works closely with individuals to understand their personal situations, offering tailored advice in line with their aspirations. Women, people of color, and LGBTQ populations have historically been underrepresented in the fire service. U.S. Fire Departments are the least diverse of all American emergency and military organizations. We provide personalized consultations to firefighters who are experiencing harassment or discrimination. Our team listens carefully to each firefighter's story, understanding their specific circumstances and concerns. We then offer tailored advice, guiding them on how to proceed in a manner that aligns with their goals and ensures their well-being. EOF also offers litigation support, media support and access, and policy change advocacy.

EOF would like to work with a marketing professional to craft a Case for Support and a fund-raising/marketing plan. We have drafts of a Strategic Plan, Concept Paper and Budget to share with you.

We envision a marketing professional conducting some discovery to gain a deep understanding of our nonprofit's mission, vision, values, and goals and consider the impact our organization aims to make and the specific programs or initiatives we undertake to achieve that impact. The professional would then help us draft a Case for Support with respect to our target audiences (individual donors, foundations, corporations, or other potential supporters). The Case for Support should include sections addressing: the need, our solution, demonstrated impact, goals and strategies, financial needs, call to action, and recognition & stewardship.

This would include several rounds of review and feedback with the nonprofit leadership and any necessary training for using the Case for Support.
Since our inception, Equity on Fire has made a substantial impact on the lives of firefighters across the country. Our support has empowered individuals to stand up against injustice, and our advocacy efforts have resulted in meaningful policy changes. We are proud of the positive difference we have made and remain committed to continuing our mission.
To date, Equity on Fire has been an all-volunteer organization. Now, we are poised to start our first fund-raising campaign.
The marketing professional would have regular access to our executive leadership and relevant team members will be directed to allocate time to meet with the professional during the discovery process. We are also prepared to furnish the necessary financial data and current marketing collateral. We will also make sure that the professional has full access to all materials relating to how we deliver our programs. We can also make program beneficiaries available to interview with the professional if need be.
