Evaluation Strategy Development

My goal for this Taproot project is to find a volunteer skilled in evaluation to assist the organization with building a data-driven culture by creating defined impact indicators for current initiatives, researching the best collection & management tool for the organization, assist with implementation, and developing an internal system to track real-time progress.

Through working with our organization, volunteers will support our mission by ensuring our programs are strategic, impactful, and responsive to community needs. Tracking key metrics allows us to demonstrate measurable progress in voter engagement, economic development, historic preservatio, and youth engagement. A strong data system improves funding opportunities, transparency, and long-term sustainability. This approach ensures every initiative is evidence-based, every dollar is strategically invested, and every outcome drives lasting change in Selma.

My team and I have prepared for this project by developing a three-year strategic program plan, conducting internal audits of our programs and events, and working on a dashboard to track next steps for all programs we are rolling out. The strategic program plan provides a clear roadmap for our long-term vision, ensuring that all initiatives align with our mission and impact goals. The internal audits will allow us to assess the effectiveness of our existing programs, identify gaps, and create a plan for more consistent data collection. This process will help us define key impact indicators that will be essential for tracking our progress moving forward.

Additionally, we have begun designing a dashboard to track program progress and accountability, which includes key milestones, deliverables, status updates, and assigned responsibilities. This dashboard serves as an initial step toward a more comprehensive impact-tracking system.
