Chart Of Accounts Set Up

My goal for this project is to create and set up a chart of accounts for our nonprofit. We recently completed a Kresge Innovative Projects: Detroit Plus grant and, while our account is currently modest, we want to establish a proper chart of accounts before pursuing additional grants. As we expand our services, ensuring compliance and a smooth accounting process is essential. Any assistance, whether direct setup or guidance on doing it myself, would be greatly appreciated.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping us establish a strong financial foundation that ensures sustainability and growth. By setting up a well-structured chart of accounts, we will be better equipped to manage grants, expand our literacy programs, and reach more children with engaging read-alouds, creative expression, and mentorship. Our organization has taken significant steps to protect our impact by trademarking and copyrighting our original songs, program names, and fictional characters for children's shows and content. This project will directly contribute to our ability to secure funding, scale our initiatives, and continue inspiring positive social change - one story at a time.

My team and I have prepared for this project by securing internal buy-in and recognizing the importance of establishing a strong financial foundation as we expand our programs. We are committed to implementing the outcomes of this project which will allow us to effectively manage grants and future funding opportunities with confidence.
