We're seeking a website expert to give us feedback on our current website’s layout, user-friendliness, mobile readiness, content, and general look and feel. You'll present our team with your recommendations for improvements to help us maximize our site to support our goals. Our website is on the Squarespace platform.

We'll start with a briefing session where our team will share our goals and tell you about our target audiences and what we hope to achieve through our website. We'll collaborate to define our next steps and set a timeline. Next time we meet, you'll provide us with some of your initial insights and high-level feedback. We'll have additional feedback for you as well. When your analysis is complete, you'll deliver a short presentation to our team with your recommendations and give us a document of your recommended tactics and updates.

Our ideal volunteer can spend fifteen to twenty hours over four to five weeks reviewing our website. They have experience in web design and marketing.

This project will NOT include:
-Website design
-Website development/coding
-Development of a content marketing strategy

hrough working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by ensuring that survivors of sexual assault and trauma can easily access the healing resources they need. The 1st 28 Foundation provides free trauma-informed healing journals to survivors, offering them a judgment-free tool to process their emotions and begin their healing journey. However, to effectively reach those in need, as well as the donors and partners who help sustain our work, we need a website that is clear, accessible, and user-friendly.

This website audit will help us identify areas for improvement, ensuring that survivors can quickly find and access our free resources, donors can easily contribute, and partners can connect with us to expand our impact. By improving our website’s design, functionality, and messaging, the volunteer will play a critical role in helping us reach more survivors, increase funding to sustain our programs, and strengthen partnerships with organizations that serve survivors.

Their expertise will directly contribute to creating a welcoming, trauma-sensitive digital space where survivors feel supported and empowered to take the first steps toward healing. Through this project, the volunteer will help us make a lasting impact, ensuring that no survivor has to heal alone.

To prepare for the project, we can provide you with detail about our target audiences and our organization's goals, and how we measure success. We will provide access to the back-end of our website and Google Analytics. We also have a dedicated member of our team who will be responsible for supporting you throughout the project.

At The 1st 28 Foundation, we believe that no sexual assault survivor should have to heal alone. The first 28 days after trauma can be the hardest. Many survivors feel lost, overwhelmed, and unsure of where to turn. Too often, they leave hospitals, police stations, and crisis centers with nothing but paperwork—no emotional support, no guidance, and no tools to help them heal. We are here to change that. Our foundation provides free healing journals to survivors of sexual assault and other traumas. These journals give survivors a safe, private space to process their emotions, regain a sense of control, and begin their healing journey. We partner with hospitals, police stations, and advocacy groups to make sure these resources reach those who need them most. Healing should not be a privilege. But for many, therapy is too expensive, mental health resources are hard to find, and trauma-informed care is not always available—especially in marginalized communities. Our mission is to bridge this gap, providing survivors with immediate, judgment-free tools that help them navigate the first and often most difficult days of healing. Every person deserves the chance to heal, to feel safe, and to reclaim their life. With your support, we can reach more survivors, provide more healing resources, and ensure that no one is left to suffer in silence. Together, we can help survivors turn pain into power—one page at a time.
