HR Operating Procedures
At Creshendo, we are seeking a skilled volunteer to guide us in developing strategic and sustainable nonprofit human resources practices. Specifically, we are looking for support in creating comprehensive onboarding and offboarding standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as refining our employee relations strategies to ensure a positive, inclusive work environment for both staff and volunteers.
We would like assistance with:
• Developing and formalizing onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for staff and volunteers.
• Crafting best practices and guidelines for employee relations, with an emphasis on fostering inclusivity, diversity, and staff well-being.
• Helping to design sustainable HR structures that align with Creshendo’s mission and growth objectives, especially as we continue to expand our global team.
This project will directly support Creshendo’s mission by strengthening our ability to build an inclusive, sustainable, and scalable HR structure, essential for supporting our global team of staff and volunteers. As a nonprofit organization with a presence across multiple continents, maintaining strong HR practices is crucial for fostering a positive, collaborative environment, especially as we continue to expand our reach and impact!
By refining our onboarding/offboarding processes and enhancing our employee relations strategies, we’ll be able to ensure that every team member—whether staff or volunteer—feels supported, valued, and aligned with our mission. This will allow us to focus on what matters most: advancing our work with refugees, driving global change, and building community through storytelling, advocacy, and empowerment.
Volunteers who contribute to this project will be helping Creshendo create the framework necessary to support and sustain our growing team, ensuring that we can continue to scale our impact while nurturing an inclusive, empowering workplace culture.
To set this project up for success, we’ve already developed an onboarding and offboarding process and are seeking guidance to fine-tune it. We’ve made great strides in building our organizational culture, which has been key to maintaining cohesion across our global team. Our policy documents for onboarding are in place, and we have a dedicated person for volunteer engagement, who will be directly involved in this project.
Internal leadership is fully committed to improving our HR practices, and we’ve gathered all relevant materials to share with the volunteer. The insights from this project will be implemented by our team to ensure continuous improvement in our HR processes, fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for staff and volunteers as we grow.
