Silent Auction Item Acquisition

We are seeking a skilled volunteer to assist with soliciting silent auction items for You Matter 2's 10-Year Anniversary Celebration. The volunteer will help us reach out to local businesses, community partners, and organizations to request donated items or experiences for our silent auction fundraiser. This role includes tracking donation commitments, following up as needed, and coordinating item pick-ups or drop-offs. The volunteer will work with us to ensure we secure enough exciting items to help raise critical funds for our youth programs.

This project is critical to You Matter 2's mission of empowering youth and providing them with the resources they need to succeed. By helping us secure items for our silent auction, volunteers will directly contribute to raising funds that will support our expansion of youth programs, including the IGNITE after-school program, Discover U college readiness workshops, and Expressions Unleashed art therapy. These programs provide transformative experiences for 6th-12th grade students, helping them build confidence, gain life skills, and prepare for future academic and career success.

The success of our silent auction will enable us to further invest in our youth, expand our reach, and create lasting opportunities for the communities we serve in the South Suburban region. Volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring that we are able to provide these essential services, empowering students to grow into confident, capable, and impactful individuals. By securing donations from local businesses, volunteers will not only contribute to our fundraising efforts but will also strengthen community partnerships, making You Matter 2 a more sustainable and influential force in the lives of our youth.

We have set this project up for success by ensuring all necessary materials are in place, including a detailed spreadsheet of businesses we’ve previously reached out to, a silent auction commitment form, and a ready-to-use email template for the volunteer to utilize when contacting potential donors. We also have a designated Silent Auction Committee Chair to assist with tracking donations and logistics throughout the process. The outcomes of this project will directly impact the success of our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration and help us reach our fundraising goals to expand our youth programs, increase staff capacity, and work towards creating a Teen Community Center. We are committed to working closely with the volunteer to ensure they feel supported and confident in their role and are excited to see the tangible results of their efforts as we secure valuable auction items.
