Storytelling And Messaging Development

We need help telling compelling stories, in print, online, and at nonprofit fairs. We need persuasive language to touch the heart of hearers about the importance of our work serving single, low-income mothers. We also need help with ideas for creating a compelling, in-person booth with marketing materials for a nonprofit fair next month.

So far, our storytelling has not yielded the empathy we believe we need to solicit support (donations and volunteers). We don't quite know if it's what we do that is not compelling enough (stereotypes and misperceptions about the character of single moms) or how we're telling our story.

We provide mentoring through our single moms' support groups. We also provide an Adopt-a-Mom program where single moms are matched with community members for mentoring and grocery assistance. The need is great and I believe with your expertise, we can relay this need as well as the benefit to future supporters. Will you help us turn our passion into a persuasive tool that will draw people to our work with single moms?

Through working with Mommie Support Network on this project, the volunteer will enjoy collaborating with an organization that is teachable and responsive. The volunteer will have access to collected materials such as marketing collateral, stories, our logo, our mission and vision statements, draft brochure and info flyer, etc. The expertise you share will not only help us with immediate marketing needs (i.e., the in-person nonprofit fair in February 2025, and enhancing our brochure), it will inform all aspects of our marketing for fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and annual reports. You will help us to set a marketing foundation that we can replicate as a guide through all of our constituent-facing activities. Your help will give us long-lasting results and better position us to tell the story about how we are helping to improve the lives of single mothers and their children.

I will make myself available for 2-5 hours per week for one month. Additionally, we have existing marketing collateral I can share with the volunteer. The nonprofit fair is on February 21, 2025, and we are willing to focus on this project as a priority. I will also invite our content writer to participate in this project so that we can maximize what we learn.
