Our nonprofit is searching for a grant writer or talented copywriter to assist our team in reviewing a grant proposal and making updates.

To implement this grant writing project, we'll need two meetings with a volunteer. In our first meeting, we will provide you with a copy and review the application draft with you. We'll align on expectations and agree on the project timeline. Next, you'll review our document using the track changes function checking for inconsistencies and continuity errors, and creates a list of recommended changes to share with us. The project will conclude after up to two rounds of edits which the volunteer will make the agreed-upon changes to the document.
In the past two years, we have applied for over 20 grant applications and been denied. Without funding, we have been unable to hire a professional grant writer, so we've relied heavily on volunteer writers. They have done the best they could but now we need strong critique to we can grow in this area. We do great work, but have been unable to get funding.

We take Black and Brown girls on college and career tours. We are doing great work, serving over 100 girls across Northern New Jersey. We need as many YES's as possible to ensure we can continue this necessary work.
We have a dedicated team member for the project who will provide you with the document that needs to be reviewed in an easily shareable format. (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.) We'll also send you the proposal and application guidelines.

Organization Mission

Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Northern New Jersey that provides college and career exposure to high school girls from underserved backgrounds. We serve girls from low socioeconomic backgrounds who reside in Bergen, Essex, and Passaic counties. Our mission is to expose high school girls to higher education and high-earning careers through college tours, company site visits, and personal development workshops. Our solution is to equip girls with the skills to build self-confidence and develop a sense of self-worth. We advance college and career choices for young women through a continuum of mentorship, real-world life skills, and positive youth development.
