Board recruitment strategy
The Women's Chorus of Dallas is starting it's 35th season this year. We have been recognized locally and nationally as one of the finest women's chorus in the country. We get rave reviews on the beauty of our sound. We consistently receive funding from local and state agencies, and have received NEA grants. And still, when we say the name of the organization, no one knows who we are, and we're constantly scrambling for funding. We are looking for support in building a board that will close the gaps for us in our financial situation, and truly being known and in demand in the community.
We have revamped our board application, and added 3 new board members this season (when the usual is one). We are able to appoint board members to fill vacancies as soon as people are available. A former, highly effective, board chair is back on the board, and available to provide orientation and support to any new board member.
