We are seeking to elevate the care our special needs adult population receives in the state of Illinois by creating a first-of-its-kind model in the Blooming Flowers Sensory & Botanical Community. The current wait list for what would be classified as an acceptable living situation in the state of Illinois is 7-10 years. Otherwise, your loved one will end up in a state-run or nursing home environment for the entirety of their life. We have many slumlords taking advantage of the need as parents and guardians must care for their loved ones.
We are building an environment that will offer residents the opportunity to create their own identity in an inclusive, safe, and purposeful forever home. It is our purpose to directly work with residents in developing their critical thinking, identification, and hand/eye coordination skills to develop tangible working skills in their own special way to assist with tasks in the residents' home and in the garden. A wheelchair or physical limitation does not have to be a lifetime barrier to a purposeful and inclusive life.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the state of Illinois. Currently, we are evaluating properties that would provide space for the property features listed above in the description section. We are looking to launch the first Blooming Flowers Community in 2025 upon securing funding which we are actively pursuing this year.
This overhead layout and property map illustration will allow us to paint a picture of our vision to partners, donors, and investors. Additionally, we will be able to provide marketing collateral and newsletter graphics for networking and trade opportunities to connect with like-minded vendors and donor partners for construction, equipment, and landscape needs for the nonprofit community.
