Everyday Conversations on Race

We believe people change their beliefs about people who are different when they get to know them and hear their personal stories. Four years ago, we launched our podcast, "Everyday Conversations on Race for Everyday People," to bring people together across races and cultures for open comfortable conversations about race in a casual setting to close the racial divide, stop hate, and spread love.

We have listeners in the US, China, Egypt, Argentina, Philippines, India, and other countries across the globe. We need your help to develop a strategy for growth, monetization, and being seen as a leading voice for change, eliminating fear of differences, and building empathy and compassion. We want to be seen as the leading voice in the conversation on race where everyone can participate.

You would help us define and build a strong brand and refine our messaging to make it contagious and exciting. We are looking for a focused strategy that would include social media and digital marketing

Show topics have included Jewish, Christian, and Muslim people talking about compassion and empathy in the Israel/Gaza Conflict and elsewhere, Ending Cancel Culture, Anti-Asian hate, Afro-Latinas, Hindu Caste System, Black people in senior leadership, and more.

**Please listen to the podcast before applying to volunteer.

Our mission for the show is to bring people together across races for deep personal conversations to eliminate fear of differences, stop hate, and spread love across the globe. This is particularly important right now in this country and across the world. I have had my show for over 4 years, recorded over 110 shows, and want to reach more people to have a greater impact. We want you to join us in achieving this mission. We want to be seen as the leading voice in the race conversation, where everyone can play a role and be included.

We are a country and a world divided by race, but we don’t have to be. We can change it. Most people are afraid to talk about race, except within their own group. They either don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, or say the wrong thing and be called racist, or they’re afraid of being discounted and trivialized by people who are racist. So often people say nothing and avoid each other. That only leads to racial silos, stereotyping, distrust, and fear. We knew that we could disrupt those silos by bringing people together for these conversations, to share their stories and build emotional connections. We knew that the more people who participated in these conversations or just listened to them, the easier it would be to have empathy and compassion for each other. This would eliminate suspicion and mistrust across differences and help build the world in which we want to live. Guests are from every race, gender, age, etc. They are ex-felons, senior executives, professional athletes, journalists, entertainers, and hourly employees. Our listeners tell us how important these conversations are to them since many people have very little meaningful contact with people who are different. Our show is educational, enlightening, and often entertaining.

If you share our values of eliminating fear of differences, stopping hate, and spreading love, we need you to join us and help us reach more people with our message. You can help us develop and implement a clear marketing strategy to reach more people with these conversations, and to connect with people who can provide us with funding and sponsorship. We are a multicultural team. I'm the host of the show. It's unique in that I am a 74-year-old white Jewish woman from the Bronx, with an interracial, multicultural, interfaith family. There is no other who is like mine. You can be part of a community of people who support diversity, and who are working to break down artificial barriers amongst people.

We've had the show for four years. We have an advisory committee that wants to help with implementation. We are working on getting funding to hire for production, promotion, and podcast management. We have a lot of content to pull from, 120 shows, social media accounts with larger followings, a newsletter, and a YouTube channel. We can create reels, and plan to do livestreaming. I have been invited to appear on other podcasts. I have two websites (that need to be upgraded for another Taproot project)

Our mission is to disrupt the way race is talked about, break racial silos, and eliminate fear of differences. We want to "bring race to the people," by having cross-race conversations where people share personal stories and solutions, and find surprising connections. We show that conversations about race are possible, urgent, and essential for our survival.
