We need volunteers to help us update and redesign our Food Pantry website in an effort to improve visibility, usability, and marketing for our target audiences. Volunteers will work with the onsite management to obtain up-to-date images and information as well as content related to the operations of the Food Pantry. We use Squarespace for our website.
Kehilat Sephardim Food Pantry is an open market, client choice food pantry serving the greater Queens NYC Jewish / Immigrant Community and is a leader in the fight against hunger and food insecurity in NYC. We are centrally located, and because we are an open market client choice, we are able to meet the various dietary needs of our clients. We believe that nobody should have to choose between diet/religion and going hungry. Additionally, Kehilat's front lines are 100% volunteer staffed and operated.

As a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kehilat was forced to expand its operations to meet the ever-growing need of our clientele. What was once a small Synagogue program handing out small donated canned goods has become an independently operated large-scale community organization.

Along the way, we have been fortunate to have the talents of many individuals to help us with providing a strong, effective presence in the digital world, including a website that not only provides a digital representation of the organization but is fully equipped with the tools and resources to meet the needs of donors, volunteers and clients alike.

We are now seeking to once again update our website to ensure its resources and tools fully represent all that is Kehilat Food Pantry. We want a website that represents where we are now and where we are going in the future.
Our photographer has a full array of pictures from recent distribution events. Additionally, we have an active partnership with Google for free use of their workspace platform.

We have an active Social Media manager who helps to market our events and volunteers each and every week.

Once complete, we will launch our new website design and promote it across the platforms in an effort to draw in donors, volunteers, and clients alike.

Organization Mission

Kehilat Sephardim Food Pantry aims to end hunger in the surrounding Jewish / Immigrant communities and beyond by providing Kosher and assorted goods multiple days a week via an open market and client choice system where all of our food is visible and clients can choose what they would like to take for themselves and their loved ones. We believe: “One should not have to choose between their religious/ dietary needs and going hungry.”
