Grant Writing to Support Homeless Children
We are a small nonprofit that depends on grants to continue to operate. We struggle to obtain funding as we are small, and not particularly well known. I have applied for over a dozen grants alone this year and obtained only one small one. Without funding, we can't operate and have been providing our services to homeless children for 10 years. We could use the help of a skilled grant writer to help us achieve our goals as well as offer some assistance in finding available opportunities for grants as our resources are limited. Since our budget is extremely tight we are hoping for someone to offer their services pro bono.
Project Sleep Tight donates over 3000+ Sleep Tight totes each year, free of charge to homeless and displaced children who need childhood essentials to feel cozy and significant. Each Sleep Tight tote contains a blanket, age-appropriate children's book, a stuffed animal, and a new toothbrush--all tucked inside of a new canvas tote bag. By providing objects of reliable comfort, Project Sleep Tight reduces the effects that homelessness can have and promotes the emotional well-being of the children we serve.
Every child who receives one of our Sleep Tight totes owns a book that encourages reading and family bonding, a blanket that can be cuddled, and a stuffed animal that can become a forever friend.
Our services are an ongoing project to over 40 shelters that we serve in two states. We have no paid employees, all are volunteers. We have been serving children through our nonprofit for over ten years. We need someone that can help us write the grants, use the correct wording and help us achieve funding.
