Visiting the Taproot Foundation website? It’s hard to miss the really big blue number on the top-right side of the homepage.
127 million dollars and counting
As of this week, that’s the value of pro bono services delivered by Taproot since 2001, but we’re not doing that on our own. There are nearly 8,000 smart, talented, dedicated professionals who have volunteered and completed a pro bono project with Taproot in our 13 year history. There are 1,000+ pro bono consultants who are working on pro bono projects for nonprofits in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and the National Capital region right now.
Why mention it as the ticker climbs from 127 million to 128 million? It’s not a significant numeric milestone but as National Volunteer Week comes to a close, it’s our opportunity to say THANK YOU. We are so grateful to our volunteer pro bono consultants across the country – past, present, and future. (If you’re reading this and fall into the future category, start here!) Without these talented experts in marketing, information technology, finance, human resources, and strategy management, we wouldn’t have such a huge impact on the nonprofits in our communities.
You make it possible
When talented, experienced, cream-of-the-crop professionals come together to offer their skills and expertise pro bono, it creates a profound impact for nonprofits that carries value most of those organizations couldn’t dream of affording if they had to pay. And it creates lasting, sustainable impact for the sector as a whole. So to those 9,000 volunteers: THANK YOU for being a part of this pro bono movement!
As we move forward, we’re looking forward to the NEXT 127 million dollars in pro bono services we deliver, the thousands of new pro bono consultants we’ll get to work with, and the new ways in which we’re delivering high quality pro bono resources to nonprofits across the country.
