Ready, Set, Pro Bono. Service Grant Projects are Staffing.

When it comes to critical social issues, your expertise cuts the mustard. So lay it on thick: use the skills you already have in fields like marketing, information technology, strategy, finance, and human resources to join forces with your community’s hardworking nonprofits. As one of more than 8 million business professionals working in America today, you can help move the ball forward in all of our communities.

If you are a professional located in one of the five cities where Taproot has an office (San Francisco, Washington DC, New York City, Chicago, or Los Angeles), apply today to work with us and make it matter. In working with the Taproot Foundation, you’ll learn how to do pro bono, you’ll meet other business professionals also contributing their skills pro bono to support a nonprofit, and you’ll get to work with some incredible organizations doing amazing work in communities across the country.

Ahead of the game and already a Taproot pro bono consultant?

Opportunity waits. Here are some snapshots, city by city:

San Francisco, Bay Area

You’ve got the goods to help nonprofits more fully achieve their missions. Log onto your personal Taproot profile to match those skills with the needs of remarkable organizations like Peer Health Exchange (PHE) in the Bay Area. PHE trains college students to teach a comprehensive health curriculum in public high schools. Otherwise lacking health education, teenagers gain access to the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions. Yet for the impact they ultimately seek, PHE needs a clean and compelling brand to communicate who they are and the quality of work they are known for. This Visual Identity and Brand Strategy Service Grant is currently staffing a Project Manager, a Brand Strategist, a Marketing Manager, a Copywriter, and a Graphic Designer.

Washington, D.C.

Is the Bay Area a little far for your morning commute? Washington D.C. professionals can connect with organizations of their same zest, like Step Afrika! USA Incorporated. Through the tradition of stepping, Step Afrika! motivates young people to engage in arts education, international cultural exchange, and performances world-wide. An updated, more accessible website will free Step Afrika!’s staff members from the complexities of coding and allow them to return their focus to executing Step Afrika!’s mission. This Website Service Grant is currently staffing: a Project Manager, a Content Manager, a Web Developer, an Information Architect, a Marketing Manager, and a Graphic Designer.

New York City

NYC professionals are puttin’ on the pro bono for organizations like Part of the Solution (POTS). Operating as a one-stop shop for low-income New Yorkers, POTS offers a wide array of programs designed to move community members from crises to stability and ultimately to self-sufficiency. However, with project completions and leadership change, POTS needs a new Annual Report to keep funders and constituents up to date. This Annual Report Service Grant is currently staffing: a Project Manager, a Copywriter, a Graphic Designer, and a Photographer.

Chicago

Kick off 2013 with a resolution you can stick to. Apply your expertise pro bono to the work of nonprofits like The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF). As the first and largest US forum for broad public audiences to learn and engage in dialogue about the built world, CAF inspires people to discover why design matters. Their year-round volunteer program does just that by encouraging participation in the construction of inclusive and sustainable communities. With Taproot, CAF is taking their volunteer program one step further to achieve new levels of efficiency, innovation and impact. This Advanced Volunteer Management Service Grant is currently staffing: a Project Manager, an HR Strategists and an HR Generalist.

Los Angeles

Your talent x Taproot opportunity = Pro Bono success. Partner with organizations like the South Bay Children’s Health Center (SBCHC) to make it happen. SBCHC provides high quality, comprehensive mental health and dental services to underserved, lower income children and their families residing in the South Bay. Next on their agenda is to accelerate strategic priorities with innovation and community partnership. Yet to achieve these goals, they’ll need a better board recruitment strategy. This Board Recruitment Service Grant is currently staffing a Project Manager, a Recruitment Strategist, a Recruitment Associate, and a Marketing Manager.

Think an upcoming project might be a match for your professional experience?

Log onto your personal Taproot profile to see which available projects interest you. When you find one, notify the Account Director right through your My Pro Bono homepage. We can’t guarantee that you’ll be staffed on any particular project; we can guarantee that we couldn’t do this without you. Thank you to all our business professionals for your time and expertise.

When business professionals help nonprofit clients more fully achieve their missions, you magnify the impact of your expertise. So the world needs do-gooders like you. And when doing good means good times, you’re doing Pro Bono well.
