Guest Blog: Making a Difference

This blog was written by PBC Ruchi Gupta. She was the Project Manager on the Taproot consultant team that recently completed a Program Measurement Service Grant for Black Coalition on AIDS in San Francisco.

Putting forth yet another paradigm example of a contemporary business solution for a committed nonprofit organization, Taproot’s pro bono consultants continue to inspire and encourage many more fellow professionals.

A team of consultants – Bridget Doran, Swetha Ramanujam & Swetha Dhamodaran, led by Ruchi Gupta (Project Manager), under the guidance of Frank Hartigan (Account Director) – designed a state-of-the art metric system for Black Coalition for Aids (BCA), San Francisco. A first for the entire Taproot team, the project did much to win the hearts of everyone involved. What started as a program measurement grant, one of Taproot’s newer pro bono offerings, ended with the culmination of newer friendships, commitments, and ambitions.

Project Testimonials

“There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that you have made a difference, you have done your bit, and most importantly done it out of your own free will. There is no bigger motivation than the sparking smiles on your clients’ faces and the shining ambitions in their hearts. Knowing that you are giving them a hope, a reason to believe that they can expand their boundaries, allows one to stretch him/her self and give all that he or she can.” – Ruchi Gupta (Project Manager)

“I was impressed by the caliber of volunteers recruited by Taproot. Their database of individuals available and willing to do pro bono work is extensive. It was very easy to put together a team of high quality professionals that were fully committed to the project. Taproot also does a great job screening the service grant recipients to ensure that there is a legitimate need and a commitment to the project’s success. Support from Taproot throughout the project was excellent. Comprehensive resources on the Taproot website, along with access to Taproot personnel, contributed to the team’s ability to create a uniquely tailored deliverable. As a result, the pro bono consultants had the satisfaction of delivering an exceptional product to a very satisfied client.” – Frank Hartigan (Account Director)

Thank you to all who were involved, and to all pro bono consultants!
