Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is an important opportunity to reflect on the legacy of one of our country’s most important activists and community builders. With more than a half-century since his death, we have undoubtedly made progress toward the world that Dr. King dreamed of. However, urgent racial and economic justice needs persist, preventing us from achieving true equity. In short, there is more work to do.

Every day is a good day to give back as a skilled volunteer, but Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is particularly appropriate to begin exploring how you can use your skills to give back.

There are a wealth of project requests available now on Taproot Plus that speak to issues Dr. King campaigned about, including civil and human rights; diversity, equity, and inclusion; supporting the Black community; economic empowerment; and more.
